NORRISTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a suspect after gunfire erupted, injuring three people in Montgomery County.

It happened around 5 p.m. Saturday on the 100 block of East Chestnut Street in Norristown.

Officers arrived to find two adults and a juvenile who had been shot.

Police say the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

"Thank God for that, I'm going to church and get on my knees, have everybody on their knees, thank you Lord," says Jean Lyons, the grandmother of the victims.

Saturday night, investigators spent hours at the crime scene focusing on a home, collecting evidence that they hope leads them to finding the shooter.

"There is some belief, preliminarily, there is a nexus between. In other words, this is not a random act, there may have been some nexus between the shooter and the victim," says Norristown Police Chief Michael Trail.

"I don't know who did the shooting, where it comes from or anything, I don't know that," says Lyons.

Police are asking the community to remain vigilant.

"Obviously there's an individual out there with a handgun who is seen fit to do this and we're always concerned," says Trail.

The motive of the shooting remains unclear.

When asked if the incident may have been domestic, police were not able to share that information.

Police are asking anyone who saw anything to please contact them.
